FBA’s Beginner’s Mind LP featured in the July 2020 edition of Electronic Sound

It had been just over 10 years since Matthew Puffett, aka Future Beat Alliance, released his last full-length album, Patience & Distance. Having spent time collaborating and writing with James Lavelle on the UNKLE project, Beginner’s Mind marked his triumphant solo return.

“Beginner’s Mind is his triumphant solo return that asks us to ‘slow down, think mindfully and see more clearly’. There’s the squelchy, clubby bass of ‘Black Acid’ and the expansive broken beats of ‘Birth’. The highlight, though, is ‘Tell Me About These Dreams’ — an ambient cut of cinematic beauty.”
